lkane 28th October 2009

Well it would have been dad's 64th Birthday today! I expect he would have gone and had a coffee with a brandy - then gone somewhere for lunch - no doubt the cheeky girls - eaten his favourite set menu and then driven home - maybe had a snooze and then set himself up for an evening of jovial drinking and chit chat. I've got visitors coming today all the way form Derby - Tiff - one of my oldest friends who knew dad really well. She is coming down with her family and we are going to celebrate my dad later - over a drink or two and lots of memories. It's strange, I never thought much about him when he he was alive - knew he was at the end of a phone. Now he is in my thoughts often - funny that! It will be a funny day today - in lots of ways - but it will also be a good one. I would also like to thank my true friends, who I know wil be thinking of dad today and raising a glass to him and finally to my husband Simon who has been a rock through all of this. Enjoy your party in the sky dad - Lyndsey
